Fitness Boot Camps

fitness boot camps

Has this past winter got you down? Are you still lounging around the house constantly snacking and very rarely taking walks outside? Well maybe it is time for you to try something new. A new routine for those who are to physically exhausted to turn the television off, get up off of the couch and walk outside sounds like a necessary fix. San Antonio is a very popular area with a lot of people. It is also an area where being fit and active is "in". As far as losing weight goes, Weight lose camp is one of the best places you could go. There at a fitness boot camp, you will find everything you need to enjoy your weight loss experience and look the way you want when it’s all over.

The first characteristic that one should look for when searching for the right weight loss or training program is their key focal points. Boot camps, weight loss programs, or training programs usually have a focus that is explained before you register for classes or sessions. For some, it is purely weight loss. For others it can range from high altitude training to toning your body through yoga and aggressive interaction. At other places it can be a place where you can simply blow off steam. For example, a kickboxing class or a Tae-kwon-do session would be just the thing. First you need to decide what you want for your workout routine, and then focus on finding a place that satisfies that need.

When planning a weight loss routine you need to make a goal for yourself to look forward to reaching at the end. If your goal is just to tone up then a simple boot camp session over a month’s period of time should be sufficient at getting you started, and then you should be able to work on your own. For others, however, that require a longer time to adjust, try to find a program that lasts over months worth of time. That way you can get results that last and results that you can learn from. A training program should be thought of like a crutch to lean on until you can learn an exercise routine that works for you on your own.

When you are enrolled or thinking about enrolling into a fitness program, you should always understand that your results will only reflect how much work you put out. If you aren’t trying very hard, you probably won’t get great results, meaning that you may have wasted all of your time in a program. Trying your best will guarantee a much better feeling when it’s all over. If you can get the most out of a training session, then you will not have wasted any time, money, or sweat.

Whether its boot camp, fitness camp, or even a simple spinning class at the gym, you should know that getting in shape and getting out of those winter sweaters is lots of fun, you just have to know how to enjoy it. For those who don’t want to join a class, even running or cycling, or walking on your own time at home can be e great way to get a good start.

Complete Fitness – Human Roots!

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

complete physical fitness

If you really want to know the reason for our physiological development we can break down the true reason of our PHYSICAL nature into two basic tasks. The two main tasks that we are designed for in terms of our physical abilities involve doing work and to reproduce to preserve the race. Now I’m not a Darwinian, nor am I even trying to get into to that conversation, but we are going to look at how the human environment has changed over time in terms of its influence on our state of health and well-being.

You see if you read the history books and look at yester-year it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that we didn’t have H2 Hummers, Publix Grocery Stores, and the internet to get stuff done. Getting something to eat wasn’t as simple as driving down to the grocery to get a loaf of bread. You see man had to hunt for his food and women would handle a lot of the gathering of the goods. It was a team effort of high physical exertion, will, and determination. The human motivation then was survival and not worrying about whether or not your wife is going to be upset with you for getting real butter instead of the low-cholesterol stuff. It wasn’t driving to the grocery, it was more like trekking through the woods and spearing a deer. Back then there was probably not a lot of weight issues, heart disease, and size 0 dresses. It was all powerful physical human ability. Humans did physically what they were meant to do.

Now lets fast-forward to today. Life is still a challenge, but the challenges are different. We still have to hunt our food in a way, but not with a spear. We do it from behind a desk sitting at a cubicle to earn a check to pay for the food that was obtained for us. So we don’t have to necessarily hunt for the food, but in turn we have brought on a wide range of health issues from our bodies not being used properly. This is where true fitness is so important. It is a way to mimic the activities that we as a race used to engage in.

This is why we should try to achieve true fitness. Everyday is now a fight to not lose what we were originally blessed to do!

A Flat Tummy

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Are there flat tummy exercises that are the best for great female abs? Abs-olutely! To make this list, the female abs exercises must be safe, effective and can be done nearly anywhere. Your abs can be worked out every day. Here are great flat tummy exercises:

1. Tummy Isometric Crunch – exhale, then suck in your stomach as far as you can, hold for about 15 seconds. Relax and breathe. Visualize moving your bellybutton straight toward your back. Holding in your tummy muscles and tensing your abs is a good way of firming and strengthening them. You will also become more aware of how to control your tummy muscles. Repeat several times. This exercise can be done anywhere, anytime.

Note – if you have high blood pressure, do not hold your breath for extended periods of time.

2. Rectus Abdominis Tummy Exercises (doesn’t that sound great?):

a. Lie on your back on the floor with bent knees and your feet flat on the floor, knees and feet spread apart the width of your hips.
b. Place your hands gently on the sides of your head for support, spreading your elbows so you cannot see them.
c. With your chin tucked toward your chest, gently curl upward and forward so that your head, neck and shoulder blades lift off the floor and your lower back presses against the floor (if you want, start with your head resting on a pillow which has your head and neck in the correct position to begin).
d. Pause just a moment, then gently return to the starting position.
e. Repeat several times.

Note – do not use your arms to complete the curl. If you can see your elbows, you’re cheating. Do not put your feet under anything since this lessens the effectiveness of these types of flat tummy exercises. If this female abs exercise is too difficult for you, do the next one below.

3. Sit-Back Flat Tummy Exercises – if your female abs muscles are weak and you have trouble lifting yourself off the floor in #2 above, here is an alternate flat tummy exercise for you:

a. Start in a sitting position on the floor with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor (secure your feet under a piece of furniture).
b. Cross your arms over your chest and roll your head and shoulders forward toward your chest.
c. Gently and slowly lean back, keeping your head and shoulders tucked. Continue until you begin to feel your stomach muscles contracting.
d. Then try to lean back just a bit more if you can and hold that position until your muscles start shaking. Try to hold this position with your muscles shaking for five seconds, then ease back to the upright sitting position.
e. Repeat in a few seconds.

4. Reducing Chewing Exercises – yes, as in jaw muscles used for excessive chewing as in overeating. Reducing overeating or exercising those jaw muscles less may be necessary to have great female abs. No one can see your great female abs if they are covered with body fat! Having great female abs may require losing some body fat. Losing body fat means:

a. Cardio exercise on a regular basis – getting the heartbeat up with fun whole-body workouts several times a week.
b. Healthy eating habits – eating healthy foods, eliminating sodas/junk food and taking in fewer calories than you burn each day.
c. Besides flat tummy exercises, strength training for the whole body – any muscle tissue you add will burn extra calories 24/7.

Besides looking great, having great female abs is about good health. Visually and physically, the midsection is the center of the body and the foundation of strength. Weak abdominals leave a woman weaker looking and vulnerable to lower back pain. At first, the goal is to build up the basic strength in the female abs area with flat tummy exercises. And remember, always check with your health care provider before starting any exercise program. Start out slowly and gradually build up your strength and repetitions.

For great abs and good health, the ideal is to reduce body fat down to no lower than 15-20% for women. Sometimes, doing flat tummy exercises is the EASY part, losing excess body fat is the TOUGH part. Eat right, exercise right — it may take time, just don’t give up on your dream of having those great female abs.
